Everyone has hope. Having hope, we do believe in some better outcomes in our life. Hope is strongly linked with positivity and it is a prerequisite for life fulfillment.
Hopeful people are less prone to depression. Dr. Neel Burton, a British psychiatrist, philosopher, writer, and educator., writes that he always asks patients for what they hope for, because if they say “nothing” then that is a sign of depression or worse.
Fortunately, the scientists have found that most people can find hope even if they have suffered trauma.
Hope is something we can grow in ourselves. It is not merely an emotion. It is a trait that all of us have, however some of us cherish it and use it more than others.
If we proactively use hope, we will be prone to believe that good always wins and to trust in something bigger than ourselves.
This month we focus on uplifting hope in ourselves offering you some activities, inspirational information and materials. Just remember: “Whatever you practice, it grows stronger.”
As Emily Dickinson wrote in her poem “Hope”:
“Hope is the thing with feathers –
That perches in the soul –
And sings the tune without the words –
And never stops – at all …”
This month let’s work together to make our souls sing :)
